Beach Camp

Background

Since 2005, Camp Explore held our Beach Camp at the serene compound of Maan Hontiveros in Matuod, Batangas. Through our partnership with the Bro. Alfred Shields, FSC Marine Station (formerly DLSU Marine Station), headed by Dr. Al Licuanan, we were trained to know more about our marine ecosystem and how to better care for it. For 2011, we now explore the beach of San, Juan Batangas! 

Program Information

Our campsite will be held in a private compound in San Juan, Batangas. Campers will be staying in a 2-storey house that is surrounded by a sprawling garden, perfect for running games.

Safety of our campers is our number one priority. Apart from 24-hour security, our competent and qualified counselors have gone through extensive first aid training and practice. Our counselors are also highly trained professionals who have been working with children for at least 3 years. (If you wish to know more about the Camp Explore team, please click here) We maintain a ratio of at least 1 counselor to 7 campers throughout the camp.

Meals will be prepared, fresh on-site, by ZEKAF, the same place that provides srumptious food to Ateneo de Manila students.  

Campers will enjoy the BEACH CAMP just as much as they did at the FOREST CAMP! This time, with the addition of the water element, camp isn't just fun, but it's-literally and figuratively-really COOL! It's the perfect way to spend those hot summer days!

Activities

Campers will enjoy the wide variety of activities included in the program:

    Tribe games
    Teambuilding games
    Hiking
    Swimming
   

Exposure to the marine ecosystem (including mangroves, sea grass, corals, and more)
Adventure race in the beach
Ropes courses
Arts and crafts...and more!

 

Age Groups and Schedules

Two types of beach camp programs will be offered this SUMMER 2011:
    1) APRIL 28-30: Pre-teens/Teens: 10-17 years old
    2) APRIL 29-30: Beach camp for families
